Andalusia is the main mainland Spanish region affected by the 2 August 2027 path of totality. The path crosses Cádiz and Málaga and reaches the far south of Granada and Almería, but the total phase is not uniform across the region.
Municipal data matter near the path edges
The IGN/OAN municipal table shows how quickly circumstances can change. Some municipalities receive several minutes of totality, while nearby places close to the edge may have only seconds or remain partial. A province-level map is useful for orientation, but an exact municipal or coordinate-level calculation is much better for planning.
Cádiz is the core mainland reference
Tarifa has about 4:38, Barbate 4:15, Conil 4:01 and Cádiz city 2:54. Northern parts of the province are much closer to the path boundary, so it is important not to assume that every municipality in Cádiz has the same eclipse.
Málaga: longer in the west
Málaga city receives about 1:49. Durations increase towards the western Costa del Sol: Mijas is about 2:50, Marbella about 3:17, Estepona about 3:37 and Manilva about 3:47 using current municipal times.
Use the map as a planning tool
The Eclipse Spain webapp combines an official municipal search with an eclipse-path map. Use it to compare locations, then check the exact observation coordinate when you have chosen accommodation or a specific site.
A map cannot solve logistics
Being inside the path does not guarantee a usable observing site. Access rights, parking legality, fire restrictions, emergency routes, local closures and the weather forecast all need to be checked closer to the event.
